ILC 2021: Novel Copper Protein Speciation Method for Calculating Serum Non Ceruloplasmin Copper: A Comparative Analysis

23 June 2021
Overview

This study addresses the challenge of accurately measuring non-ceruloplasmin-bound copper (NCC)—a key biomarker in diagnosing and managing Wilson disease (WD).

Wilson disease is an autosomal recessive disorder of copper (Cu) transport caused by mutations of the ATP7B gene. Traditional methods for NCC quantification are unreliable, often leading to inaccurate or negative values due to limitations in immunological assays and EDTA-based techniques.

Download the poster to see how the method developed by Arcinova's experts offers a promising tool for diagnosing and monitoring Wilson disease, with potential for broader clinical application.
